A série A Ilha da Fantasia foi criada por Aaron Spelling criador de outra série marcante, o Barco do Amor.
A primeira aparição da história do misterioso Senhor Roarke, (Ricardo Montalban) (um homem que tinha os poderes fazer os desejos das pessoas se tornarem realidade) em forma de filmes para a TV o que é muito comum na América.
Com certeza já deve ter visto aqueles filmes piloto de séries de Tv.
Era mais ou menos assim :
O filme que deu origem a série...
O curioso e que a história da origem do Senhor Roarke nunca foi revelada.
Nós nunca soubemos a maneira pela qual o Senhor Roarke chegou à ilha ou qual era o seus poderes para a realização das fantasias.
O primeiro filme, A Ilha da Fantasia, foi ao ar em 1977 e apresentou uma exótica ilha onde um homem misterioso servia de anfitrião em um luxuoso e misterioso Hotel.
Logo depois o segundo filme foi exibido.
Depois disso com a aceitação dos filmes veio a série de TV que teve 157 episódios, quem não se lembra do Tatoo tocando o sino e gritando “Olha o avião ! Olha o avião!”
Este era o aviso para Mr. Roarke sempre vestido de branco saudarem os visitantes ou vitimas quando eles descessem do hidroavião.
Enquanto os convidados recebiam as regras, Mr. Roarke explicava ao anãozinho Tatoo qual era a fantasia de cada um.
Como é que eles chegavam na ilha ? era a Agencia Travel&Sonhos ?
A lição de moral era que mesmo tendo todas as suas fantasias ou seria melhor dizer sonhos realizados, ainda assim você poderia ficar infeliz pois o que importa mesmo é como somos por dentro...
Os episódios geralmente incluíam duas histórias, com a trama se alternando entre uma e outra .
A série foi refilmada em 1998 com Malcolm McDowell interpretando Mr. Roarke, mas não teve o mesmo charme da série original.
